Five Limiting Beliefs That Keep You from Achieving Your Goals

Limitless

The busy schedules of most entrepreneurs are swamped with important tasks and urgent meetings. The endless to-do lists give the feeling of constant busyness, making the time pressure extremely disturbing. Regardless of all the hustle, entrepreneurs must keep their focus on what is important for their businesses. They should concentrate on setting goals and creating action plans that will lead them to achieving these goals.

The importance of goal-setting is widely discussed topic among startup owners, but here we will concentrate on the five limiting beliefs that keep them from reaching their desired destinations and accomplishing the things that they have been aiming to. In her TED Talk, Brazilian entrepreneur Bel Pesce shares five ways, which distract you on your way to following your dreams, which ways are as follows:

Believe in overnight success

There is no such a thing as overnight success and we all know it.  Behind every successful project, which is rocking the “overnight-success” title, there are so much hard work, efforts, time, sleepless nights and even failures put into it.

Believe that someone else has the answers for you

Having mentors and people that will guide you on your way to building your company is important, yet in the end of the day you are the one who has to make all the important decisions. Nobody else has to do that for you, so be brave, be bold and take responsibility.

Decide to settle when your life is guaranteed

When you achieve an important milestone, there is no time to settle down and stop working hard enough. Don’t let the excitement of the moment to distract your focus and keep concentrating on planning ahead, setting more goals and dreaming about future success.

Believe the fault is someone else’s

Taking responsibility for your actions is very important for entrepreneurs, who are in the startup scene with the ambition to grow and improve. Everything in your company depends on you, on your decisions and on your actions. Before you start blaming the investors, the team members, the market, the competition and so on, take your time to analyze the situation and see what you have done wrong.

Believe in your dreams

Passion is what gets you started and passion should be the driving power that keeps you following your dreams and pursuing your goals. Entrepreneurship is about the journey of building a business and you should enjoy this journey despite all the hard times and setbacks.
