Entrepreneurial Struggles: The Quick Road from Success to Failure

Success

The reason why so many people reach success and struggle to keep up with it and eventually fail is that they believe that the road to success is a one way street – once you get there, you stay there. Many people, who have managed to reach the top of their goals and dreams decide that once thеy have made it, they can now stop working with effort and can get cozy in their comfort zone.

During his TED Talk, Richard St. John answers the question “Why do so many people reach success and then fail?”. He defines success as a continuous journey of constant devotion to improving and growing. He shares with the audience the mistakes he has made once he reached success and advises everyone to avoid getting stuck in their comfort zone, encouraging them to stay self-aware and focused on what truly matters if they want to enjoy their success longer.

Hard Work and Push to Success

Reaching success, which in most ways means achieving the set goals and the desired results, requires a lot of hard work and devotion. While people push themselves to work hard and learn on the road to pursuing their dreams, once they get there they tend to sit back, relax and stop improving.

Ideas and Improvement

People, who are aiming to reach success, are constantly looking for inspiration, new ideas and opportunity, but once they get too confident in their achievements, they stop paying attention on the things that inspire creativity – they stop observing, making connections, listening actively, even put a hold on their creative spark.

Focus and Persistence

On the way to success entrepreneurs tend to focus on the important projects and the needs of their clients, but once they succeed they tend to focus more on the money that start to flow into the business and get distracted by it.

Passion and Service

On the way to success entrepreneurs are driven by passion – they drive their companies in the right direction through effective leadership. But often when the goal is reached, they forget to listen to their hearts and start relying on the popular management methods just so they feel more professional. In entrepreneurship, once you lose the passion, you are losing your ability to lead and easily get confused by the corporate management practices.
