Uber revolutionized the taxi industry and changed tremendously the way we look at transportation. Its success has proven the impact shared economy companies have on our lives.
Since the launch of UberCab nine years ago, the company has come a long way. The San Francisco-based car transportation and food delivery company now operates in over 700 cities worldwide, has over 12,000 employees and marked revenue of $6.5 billion USD in 2016.
To mark the ninth anniversary of the launch, co-founder Carrett Camp shared in a Medium post the first pitch deck he and Travis Kalanick created back in late 2008.
The 25 slides present the initial idea behind Uber and the vision of the founders to change fundamentally the taxi industry. Looking at the pitch deck now, we see how outdated it is compared to today – the Blackberry phones and the old Lexus car used in the slides are just two of the examples.
